Updated spatial mapping for Queensland waterways

The Queensland waterways for waterway barrier works mapping was updated on 29 November 2023.

Transitional arrangements for accepted development works

If you used the previous version of the spatial mapping to plan and design your waterway barrier works, then:

• you have until 5pm on 30 June 2024 to submit the required notification for accepted development works in accordance with the previous version mapping
• and
• your works must commence within 20 business days after notification.

The works do not need to be completed by 30 June 2024.

Submitted notifications or completed works

If you have already submitted your notification or undertaken accepted development in accordance with the previous mapping and requirements, then your development is authorised.

The updated mapping does not change this.

Assessable development applications

This transitional period only applies to accepted development—not assessable development applications.
