Prior notice
Commercial fishers who are conducting fishing in an individual transferrable quota (ITQ fishery), or a prescribed commercial catch (PCC) fishery must submit a prior notice of accurate numbers of fish taken for each quota species.
The commercial fisher in control of the fishing operation is responsible for meeting the reporting requirements.
What to report
For each quota species you need to accurately report:
- number of fish OR number of containers of fish, and
- form of fish.
Follow the specific reporting requirements listed in the daily catch and effort logbook for your fishery.
The prior notice is a commitment of accurate fish numbers by form to be landed for compliance purposes. The prior notice cannot be amended
A prior notice is not required if there is zero quantity of quota species taken in a fishing operation.
