Set up the Qld eFisher app
Complete this checklist before you use the Qld eFisher app for the first time on a fishing operation.
Step 1: Check you are eligible
You’re eligible to use the app if you are:
- operating in a fishery that can use the app
- a commercial fisher licence holder in control of a fishing operation
- nominated by the holder of the primary commercial fishing licence.
To be nominated, the primary commercial fishing licence holder must set up a commercial fisher in control (CFIC) association in FishNet Secure, to allow you access to report with the app. This links licence details (including fishery symbols) to the app so information can be collected and reported against those details by the nominated commercial fisher.
Step 2: Set up access in FishNet Secure
- set up an account using the email address associated with your commercial fishing licence
- create a secure password
- verify you have been nominated as a commercial fisher in control by the primary commercial fishing licence holder in FishNet Secure.
Step 3: Check your device settings
The Qld eFisher app will only work if the operating system on your device is:
- iOS 13 or higher, or
- Android 9 or higher.
Step 4: Download the app
Download the app from the App Store or Google Play.
Step 4: Learn how to use the app
- Log in to Qld eFisher and explore the introduction screens.
- Read the user guide.
- Use the ‘Help’ menu in the app.
- Read the privacy statement.
- Email efisher@daf.qld.gov.au to request access to the training version of the app.
