Queensland Welcomes You online training programs
The Queensland Welcomes You initiative offers online training programs tailored for each of Queensland’s 13 unique tourism regions. Additionally, face-to-face workshops are scheduled for early 2025.
The programs are designed to help you enhance the guest experience and boost Queensland’s visitor economy.
Eligibility
The online training is open to all businesses that play a role in welcoming and hosting guests in the below regions.
Program participants can include those working in:
- hotels
- venues
- transport
- tours
- events
- attractions
- retail
- restaurants
- cafes and bars.
Benefits of the training
The training will:
- increase your regional knowledge to create stories and unique experiences to share with guests
- provide you with recognition as a regional host and an important part of a broader Queensland network of welcoming hosts.
You’ll also receive a certificate of completion to use in promoting your regional host status and part in the network of hosts Queensland-wide.
Program content
There are 5 modules in the online program and topics include:
- world-class hosting principles
- accessibility and inclusion
- storytelling
- regional-specific content on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples culture and environmental sustainability
- local experiences and tourism products.
