Commencement of a resource authority and an environmental authority for a resource project
After a resource authority is granted, you must comply with the requirements the Department of Resources has attached to the authority, as well as a range of general obligations. As a resource authority holder, you are also required to pay rents, royalties and duties.
When an environmental authority (EA) has been granted, you must comply with the requirements the Department of Environment, Science and Innovation has attached to the authority, as well as the conditions of the EA. Other requirements may include:
- paying annual fees
- submitting annual returns
- paying financial provision.
Financial provisioning, if required, must be paid before operations can commence.
Project operation
Once the project is in operation, it is essential that the project continues to meet all requirements and obligations.
