Report your non-urban water use. Submit a meter reading online, via email or call us for assistance.
Before you submit
Reporting your water usage helps the government sustainably manage water resources in Queensland.
Here are some tips before submitting your meter reading:
- Check the due date for your meter reading.
- Record all digits displayed on the meter.
- For multiple meters, submit a separate reading per meter.
If you notice your meter is faulty, report it.
Failure to submit a meter reading by the due date is an offence under the Water Act 2000.
What you need
To successfully submit a meter reading, you need to have your:
- client reference number
- device reference number.
We will send you a reminder with these details. It is your responsibility to keep your contact details up to date.

The way you report water use online has changed.
You now use WaterIQ to submit your water meter readings online.

Other ways to submit a reading
If you're unable to submit your water meter reading online, you have the option to send us a hardcopy.
Email a copy
To do this:
- download and complete the meter reading form (PDF, 162KB)
- email your form to WaterHub@rdmw.qld.gov.au
For assistance
- If you believe you have incorrectly submitted your meter reading, email WaterHub@rdmw.qld.gov.au.
- To report a faulty device, contact your local business centre.
- For technical assistance with WaterIQ, email wateriq.support@rdmw.qld.gov.au.
