WaterIQ – Water Information Queensland
WaterIQ gives you water-related information and management tools. From February 2025, it replaces the old, online way to submit water reading and certifications to us. Through it you manage your information, submissions, certifications and more.
What you can do in WaterIQ
WaterIQ provides online access to unsupplemented water management information and allows you to provide water use information to us.
Water users can use WaterIQ to:
- submit meter readings
- view water measurement device details, reading and water use
- report a faulty device
- view water authorisations, works and announcements
- view trades.
Duly qualified persons (DQPs) can use WaterIQ to:
- complete, submit and track water meter inspection forms
- view and manage your water meter inspection forms for multiple customers
- save and print complete forms.
Paper forms are still available, if required.
Reminder to DQPs
You must provide a copy of each inspection from to your customer within 10 business days of the inspection.
Set up and use WaterIQ – water users

Access WaterIQ using a tablet, laptop or computer rather than a smartphone.
You'll need your:
- personal myID (the new name for your myGovID). If you don't have one, create one with myID. To use WaterIQ, you'll need a myID identity strength level of 'standard' or higher
- personal linking code we sent you via email. This is your personal code, don't share it. If you share it, the authentication process won't work properly. If you don't have a linking code, email WaterIQ.Support@rdmw.qld.gov.au.

Initial set up is expected to take 5 to 10 minutes.
Step 1:
- Open WaterIQ.
- Select Login with Digital ID.
- Select myID as your identify provider and enter your myID email.
- Select get code.
Step 2: Open the myID app on your phone to get the 4-digit code. Enter this code to go to the WaterIQ registration page.
Step 3:
- Enter the personal linking code we sent you and select Verify.
- You'll be automatically logged out of WaterIQ.
Step 4: Return to WaterIQ and follow steps 1 and 2 above to log back in.
Set up and use WaterIQ – duly qualified persons
Certified meter installers and validators (CMIs) operating in Queensland are now known as duly qualified persons or DQPs.
DQPs must complete the relevant training and be certified by Irrigation Australia (IAL).

Step 1:
- Open WaterIQ.
- Select Login with Digital ID.

Step 3: Select Register as a duly qualified person.
Step 4: Enter your
- CMI number
- work email address
- work mobile number.
Step 5:
- Select Register for WaterIQ as a duly qualified person.
- You'll be automatically logged out of WaterIQ.

Once you're request has been actioned, we'll email you to confirm your registration. This may take 3 to 5 business days.

Login to WaterIQ following steps 1 and 2 in Register for WaterIQ above.
You will land on the meter inspections page, where you can complete, submit and track your water meter inspections forms. In WaterIQ:
- you can create a new form by selecting Create new
- your progress is automatically saved as each step is completed
- you can continue to complete your form by selecting Resume form
- you can save completed forms as a PDF to print and send to your customers (which must be done within 10 business days).

To submit water meter inspection forms using WaterIQ, you must have a meter case code. Your customer should provide this to you. They can find it on:
- letters about requirements to install a meter
- meter recertification reminders.
If your customer doesn't have a meter case code, you can request one by either:
- emailing WaterIQ.Support@rdmw.qld.gov.au
- completing and submitting the water meter inspection form.
