Flexibility is the future – video transcript

This conference is such an important part of business in Queensland.
I think we're in really interesting times as far as the workforce is concerned and I think reimagining the workforce for me involves looking at your staff and re-looking at how you organise your staff and your workplace to better suit your business.
And I think really coming out of COVID, there have been so many changes in how we approach work, how we approach recruitment, how we approach retention, how we stop people leaving our businesses.
I was really excited to see that the array of speakers and to look at this idea of reimagining the workplace from different perspectives, be it gender, disability, flexible working, which is my area.
For me, when I talk about workplace flexibility, it's about understanding the differences in your workplace, it's about understanding the drivers that drive staff to come to work and how you get the best out of your staff and I think this idea that the workplace is a kind of one size fits all non-diverse entity is really nonsense and I think one of the things we've learnt from COVID is that flexibility is the future and a flexible workplace simply reflects the constituency, the workers themselves as well as customers.
