About the Back to Work program
The Back to Work program provides both financial and non-financial support to eligible Queensland employers and job seekers who identify as belonging to one or more of the program's target groups.
In addition to incentive payments, regional teams can provide advice and support tailored for individual business needs including assistance in supporting their new employee to retain employment.
Support under the program includes:

- Small Business Support Pool
- free, online short courses (in collaboration with TAFE Queensland)
- for job seekers
- Pre-employment program
- Jobseeker Support Pool
- C3G Plus
- for industry
The program offers support to job seekers who identify as belonging to one or more of the following groups:
- First Nations peoples
- people with disability
- youth (aged 15 to 24)
- culturally and linguistically diverse peoples
- long-term unemployed persons (minimum of 52 weeks or longer).
The program is delivered statewide for job seekers, and throughout regional Queensland and some South East Queensland (SEQ) local government areas (LGAs) for employers.
Eligible regions include:
- Wide Bay-Burnett
- Central Queensland
- Mackay/Isaac
- South West Queensland
- North Queensland/Whitsunday
- North West Queensland
- Far North Queensland.
Eligible SEQ LGAs include:
- Ipswich
- Lockyer Valley
- Logan
- Moreton Bay
- Scenic Rim
- Somerset.
Back to Work teams are based throughout regional Queensland to support both employers and job seekers locally.
