Making changes to your business grant project after approval
Congratulations, you've been awarded a grant to fund your business project. But what happens if you need to make changes to your project after you've received the grant funds?
Maybe your supplier is no longer available, or you found a supplier who can provide a better service for your business. Perhaps the scope of your project has changed or you just want to go in a different direction. In any case, it's important to know how to proceed.
Here's what you need to do.
Advise us in writing and explain why you need to make the changes. This is called a grant variation. We'll need a quote from your new supplier. If you're unsure what information is required for the quote to be acceptable, see our previous video on how to start your application.
Once we receive your variation request, we'll review it and advise you as soon as possible. The variation will still need to meet the grant guidelines and terms and conditions.
Remember, you can't begin engaging your new supplier until you receive written approval back from us.
So what happens if you don't advise us of a grant variation?
You'll be breaching your funding agreement and making changes to your grant funded project without our approval first can have some pretty serious consequences.
So always advise us before you engage a new supplier or make any changes to your grant funded project. By doing so, you'll stay compliant with your funding agreement and you'll be able to enjoy the full benefits of your grant funded project.
Thanks for watching and good luck with your project. If you have any questions or concerns, reach out to us through business.qld.gov.au/grants.
Next up, what happens when you finish your grant funded project.
