So we're here today at the Townsville Islamic Society open day we're really pleased to have 6 of our graduates from the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training Growing Migrant and Refugee Food and Beverage Business Program.

These ladies have worked really hard over the last few months, completed our course, they've undertaken further study including obtaining a food safety certificate from TAFE and utilising Business Launchpad and Business Queensland to set themselves up for small business, and they're here today for the first time to run a market stall.

So today we've got an excellent opportunity for general residents of Townsville to come and learn about the Islamic faith through the open day we're running. But in addition, we've been very fortunate to have the first of its kind International Food Festival.

This is an opportunity for these budding entrepreneurs to showcase their skills and potentially become business owners in the future. So we're sincerely hoping that they all not only go on to have their own restaurants become business owners, but inspire others like them to become more and more integral part of the society.
